There are no substitutes. There are no shortcuts. Real prayer (not mere recitation) is indispensable for communion with God. But do we *desire* intimacy with God? Is he Number One in our lives? When we want the Holy Spirit to direct us and we allow Him to be Our Lord. Too often we want to rule our lives and we are lords of our selves. If we were to allow God to rule His body on earth by individually submitting to Him, He could bring all the members of the Body together. But we like to have influence on others in His Body, so we hence have struggles for power and thus suffer divisions on many levels. “When is the Spirit of GOD going to prevail upon us…?”

They are often either completely taken back by it or feel that they now have to carry the burden of "owing" this person something. We are all too often quick to judge and make assumptions that cloud the gift of love God has given us. Why is it so hard to love and accept one another? If everyone put forth a sincere effort, what a different world this would be!
